Is a corrosion inhibitor for inorganic and organic acids in aqueous systems based on the long chain nitrogen compounds with especially surface active substances that posses protective properties for metal surfaces from the impact of inorganic acids such as hydrochloric, hydrofluoric and sulphate acids with application in many industry branches.
In aqueous systems CORDAN 950 adsorbs on metal surfaces forming a protective monomolecular layer, which protect them from the corrosive action of acids, H2O, CO2 and other sources of corrosion. CORDAN 950 can be used for cleaning out (removing carbonate layers) plants with acids. The main application is to protect metal surfaces from inorganic and organic acids and in many cases it provides 99,5% protection of metal surfaces. CORDAN 950 can be also used in condensers, cooling systems, chemical and power plants, boilers, central heating systems..
The dosing quantity is 1-3 % depending on the acid solution. Duration of the metal surface treatment with mineral or organic acids, together with CORDAN 950, is 2-5 hours, very much depending on the temperature and quantity of scaling layers. In some of processes like condensers, cooling systems, chemical and power plants, boilers, central heating systems CORDAN 950 has to be added continuously and dosing quantity is 0,5-1% depending on condition in technology. For the more aggressive acids (as hydrochloric) it should be 2-3%. For sulphuric and phosphor acid the best dosing rate is 1-2%.
